I have never used a spirailzer vegetable slicer-pasta maker, but I have always wanted to make those pretty sliced vetgetables I have seen at a store or on TV. I looked at my spiral slicer and thought yikes how does this work. It is easier to use than I thought it would be. Let me walk you though how to use this.
You insert one end of the vegetable inside the slicer with the opened end and all you have to do is twist, wow that was sounds so simple, lol. To make the curly ones hold your spiral slicer with a steady hand and the angle you want to twist to create the curls strands. Well you might think yes that does sound easy but I bet it is hard to clean. Nope it was very easy to clean, they sent a small wire brush to make it easy to clean the inside, then you can rinse with hot water and soap. I didnt try to make pasta but after doing the vegetable I can see how this would work using a zucchini.
I wanted to make some fancy fried potatoes, I have to admit that it wasnt as easy as it sounded for me at least. I had to hold the closed end and try to turn at the same time, which made this harder for me I feel that the blade wasnt sharp enough to cut the potatoe needless to say I gave up and enlisted my husband to finish up, and I got to thinking that if I wanted to make pasta with a zucchini, that it would be super hard to turn for that vegetable is a much harder vegetable but it would work. The closed end of the slicer is so you have less watse and mess.
When I got done my wrist hurt and it took a while for it to stop. Maybe Iam out shape or I have a weak wrist, not sure, but this could happend to other's and other people would be like that was just so easy to turn and hold to curl that vegetable. The idea behind this product is great though.
When you buy this item it comes with a lid to enclose one end, a cleaning brush, a jar opener, and a Ebook full of reciepes. The ebook is loaded with great looking dishes to make and they sound sound easy and filling. It is priced at $14.50, good value I feel.
Each end is a differenet size so you can decide if you want it a little smaller or larger. This wold be a great gift for a person that loves to cook or one that wants to change up the way they cook.
Here is a picture of me when I was trying to do the fancy hashbrowns, my family thought it was cool and they tatsed very good. I recieved this product for free for testing purposes and this is my honest inbaised opinion. http://www.amazon.com/Retseliney-Premium-Spiralizer-Bundle-Vegetable/dp/B00P8EJMJ8/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1425704039&sr=1-1&keywords=Retseliney%2C+Premium+Spiralizer+Bundle+-+Vegetable
