These place mats are a blessing for my table for the top of it has a couple of spots where my husband would set something hot on it and it would take the coating off and I have to set pot holders down for he won't stop doing it know matter how many times I get made at him. He was thrilled when I told him how I was getting these place mats and he wouldn't get into trouble anymore.
Why won't I be getting made at him? That is because these place mats are heat insulation so that they will absorb the heat and keep it in the mat on not on my table top. My table is older and just cant take anymore abuse from his forgetfulness. When I received them I cleaned off the table and place them around each end.
I love the texture of the mats for they have a good thickness that will protect my table. I really like how well they are nicely woven into a cool pattern and the color is sweet for it matches my kitchen. They look like a small checker board in color for I can see the red and the black divided into four squares.
They are made with high quality PVC material that keeps them from slipping around the table which I never liked about cloth placement plus these are so easy to clean with a damp soap cloth I can just wipe them off and rinse and let them air dry. Each place mat is 17.6" L x 12" W; in size big enough for a plate, cup and silverware.
So far any food that has fallen on them has been easy to clean and didn't stain. It is so nice how they stay in place making them more enjoyable to eat on. They are very flexible making them easy to roll up and store away if I need the table space for something different, I really like them and my husband loves them for he can just set his hot plate on the table and relax and so can I.
