The best thing I have to say about this smoke detector is that it has a lithium-ion battery that can last up to ten years and that is saying alot. My husband has a chart he has to keep to keep track of battery test for our old detector and he would always forget to test them and feel bad about it. Now he doesn't have to worry about this anymore and we don't have to waste money buying batteries either. This detector also has photoelectric which means it can detect slow moving smoke faster which is a very nice feature for it can save your life. I did test mind with my husband cigarette and within three seconds of smoking flowing over it, the detector went off an wow it is loud. It is a white color which is neat and will blend in anywhere in the house but you should have it centralized in your home and if you have more than one floor you need one for each to be totally safe. It has a test button for peace of mind and it has a flashing red LED light to let you know that it is working properly. It was very easy to set up with a bracket and screws to attach to the wall to mount and hold it in place. Another really great thing about this smoke detector is that Photoelectric-sensing alarms may detect visible particles sooner than ionization alarms.
