I was very excited when the meal prep containers arrived that have 2 slots arrived at my home for I need something to pack lunches for my husband to take to work with him. I can also use them to pack a lunch of cold food like a sandwich and chips inside too.
I was very impressed with have durable they are and that they are BPA free making them safe to place food inside of. If I wanted though I could use them for storage of small items likes crayons, buttons, ribbons things that I use for making crafts with.
I really like that they have a clear plastic lids so that you can see inside of them which is nice if you packing several different meals for different people so that there isn't a mix up. The bottom container is a good strong black plastic.
Each one is 9 x 6.5 x 6 inches which is alot of space to store a good size portion meal inside of. I really like how good the lid snaps and holds in place so that the contents won't fall out off. Plus they are pretty easy to open back up with slipping out whats inside.
I really like how there are 2 compartments so that the food doesn't mix together which wouldn't bother my husband but for picky eaters like me it would. They would be ideal if you cook food for someone that is sick for they could just throw the container away when they are done.
Me personally I wont throw them away for they can be used over and over. I just wash my with soap and water but they are safe to place in the dishwasher and also safe to heat up food in the microwave.
They don't take up much space in the cabinet because they are stackable, which is also true for the refrigerator. You could cook up alot of meals for the week and place them in the freezer for the kids to pull out and place in the mircrowave for when your not home or just too tired that night.
This is a good way to portion out your food if your on a diet. The food will stay good for a few days in the refrigerator since the lids are air tight sealing in the freshness for when you do eat it. My husband loves to take them to work and pop it in the microwave. Sometimes he even washes it for me and brings in back home.
They are a great value for you get 20 of them for $18.99 and they can be used over and over. I really like that they are made in the USA so that they have to pass strict quality controls. Plus this is a way to help keeps jobs in my own country. They are strong for they hold up to 32 Oz's of food. The containers have saved my husband some money for he isn't heading to McDonald's everyday now which also means that he is eating healthier too.
